We have been getting this question a lot lately, so it seemed like the perfect time to address it! What’s the difference between Marijuana and Hemp? This is a common question, and the answer is simple!
Hemp and marijuana are both cannabis. Yes! That’s right, it is the same plant but with different varieties. Compared to other plants, some roses are red and some are white, but they are all still roses. There is only one differentiator between hemp and marijuana, and that is the legal definition the government has given it. The government says if the plant has less than .3% Delta 9 THC, then it is considered hemp, regardless of the other amount of cannabinoids it may have. If cannabis has more than .3% Delta 9 THC, then it is considered marijuana.
There are several types of cannabis varieties, here is the breakdown:
Type 1 cannabis is mainly composed of THCa and or Delta 9 THC.
